1970-luvulla, ensimmäisen energiakriisin jälkeen, maassamme säästettiin energiaa. Mainosvaloja vähennettiin, toimistojen lämpötilaa laskettiin ja omakotitaloja tiivistettiin. Säästämisen vaihe, jota tosin kesti vain pari vuotta, näkyy nyt vähäisenä 1970-luvun puolivälin notkahduksena pitkäaikaisessa energiatilastossa. .....

In the 1970, after the first energy crises, we started to save energy in Finland. We decided to cut down the bright lights for outside advertisements, we dropped down the temperature of official buildings with a degree or two and we insulated the small houses. The period of intensive energy saving is now seen as a small drop in the long term natiional energy statistics. .....
